As you ride through the mountains, crossing rivers, following game trails, and conquering ever-changing landscapes, you’ll soon discover that the wilderness holds more for you than imagined. The mountains themselves hold unexpected wonders, from agile mountain goats maneuvering alpine ridges to meadows blanketed with wildflowers in full bloom.

We work with the realities and conditions of the natural environment to bring you an authentic wilderness eXperience. From camping in the stillness of remote wilderness to trail riding through the mountains at nature’s pace, every detail of this eXperience works together to bring you closer to nature than ever before.

The gentle tread and pacing of the Cayuse horses allows you to hear the sounds of the wilderness we want to preserve. In the midst of such vast and quiet surroundings, there’s space for you to dream and wonder at the breathtaking beauty around you.

You’ll ride through the mountains by day and camp under the stars at night. This eXperience utilize established backcountry camps where you can rest up and relive the day’s adventures over a hearty meal. Throughout this eXperience, you get to engage with nature in meaningful, authentic ways that will do more than refresh your spirit. This kind of journey invites you to explore new possibilities that are grand enough to match the majesty of this endless wilderness.

Itinerary

4 days | 3 nights
Journey through a world of new eXperiences and unforgettable mountain moments. Take in 360 degree views of breathtaking mountains and valleys that stretch beyond the horizon line.
Explore the mountain habitats of California Bighorn Sheep, moose, mule deer, mountain goats, grizzly bears, black bears, marmots, and wolves.
Savor every detail of the wilderness around you, from delicate alpine blossoms to grand alpine basins.
eXperience the exhilaration of horseback riding through ancient forests and flourishing river valleys.
Take part in our wildlife conservation efforts.

Day 1
Early morning departure from Vancouver aboard private shuttle. Midday arrival and lunch at the farm.
Horse Riding Orientation - Meet you horse, fit saddles, and practice horsemanship skills. Introductory trail ride.
Dinner and review of trip details with your guides. Map orientation highlighting the trails and terrain you’ll explore throughout your journey. Repack your personal gear into mountain duffel bags. Overnight in farm's accommodations.

Day 2
Breakfast at the farm.
Watch your guides pack and saddle your horses, or get an hands-on orientation before you ride out to camp. Journey through Douglas fir and Lodgepole pine forests, climb stunning mountain passes and ride through tranquil valleys. Break for lunch in a meadow of wildflowers.
Arrive at mountain camp. Relax or join your guides in leading the horses to their grazing meadows. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 3
Breakfast at camp before packing up and head out. Explore striking landscapes, like wide U-shaped valleys and towering ridgelines, as you ride back to the farm. Enjoy lunch atop a mountain pass or in an alpine meadow.
Arrival and dinner at the farm. Relax around the fireplace or step onto the deck for spectacular star-gazing. Overnight in farm's accommodations.

Day 4
Leisurely farm breakfast. Bareback horse riding lessons. Take aim with target shooting instruction and practice.
Farewell lunch at the farm. Depart for Vancouver, Surrey, arriving in the evening.

Camp breakfast.
Ride higher into the alpine for 360 degree views of Canada’s iconic mountain ranges, framed by the awe-inspiring vastness of the mountain skies. Enjoy lunch from a scenic lookout or in a quiet alpine meadow. Discover new trails and stunning mountainous terrain, teeming with wildlife. Arrival and dinner at camp. Overnight at camp.

Day 6
Camp breakfast.
Pack up and begin your return journey to the farm.
Ride through tranquil river valleys and over rugged trails that zig-zag along steep mountainsides. Break for lunch with majestic mountain vistas stretching before you.
Arrival and dinner at the farm. Relax around the fireplace or step onto the deck for spectacular star-gazing. Overnight in farm's accommodations.

Day 7
Leisurely farm breakfast. Bareback horse riding lessons. Take aim with target shooting instruction and practice.
Farewell lunch at the farm. Depart for Vancouver, Surrey, arriving in the evening.

Please note, this eXperience is subject to the unpredictable weather and terrain conditions that come with a mountainous environment. And while we do our best to stick to the itinerary, there are times when the current conditions and needs of the group require us to adjust schedules, campsites, etc. This is part of any true wilderness eXperience, however, and we are well equipped to adapt the adventure to changing conditions.
